Assessment of blood flow in arteries and veins.

Doppler ultrasound is an echographic method that allows for the simultaneous assessment of blood vessels and the determination of their flow using the Doppler effect.
The Doppler ultrasound is a painless and non-invasive examination that typically takes 20 to 40 minutes.
This examination has wide applications in the circulatory system, both arterial and venous, at the level of the abdomen as well as the vessels of the neck and the upper and lower limbs, with particular relevance in studies of carotid flow, arterial flow of the lower limbs, abdominal vessels, and in the study of venous insufficiencies of the lower limbs.
